Swedish Chalet

UDesign were commissioned to transform this chalet into a glamorous, modern home but still maintain a natural feel. The house was designed by a Swedish architect and was just a shell when UDesign started work.

This is certainly not your typical log cabin in the woods, except for the fact that natural materials were used throughout – all the floors and doors are wood – and there is an elegant white marble block forming the centre of the kitchen with matching marble coffee table in the lounge. The mainly black, white and grey colour palette was bought to life by splashes of vibrant colour in the cushions, objets d’art and abstract art on the walls. The lighting harmonises perfectly with the furniture and is not what you would expect – especially the gold finished Brubeck chandelier by Delightfull that hangs over the dining table. The main lounge is all in smooth white with touches of colour, whilst the family lounge has a grey sofa and textured wall paper that resembles tree trunks. Note the Bang & Olufsen state-of-the-art TV which stands unnoticed until you turn it on.

The clean lines and calm vibes continue into the bedrooms with the guest room featuring a striking lacquered wall panel behind the bed. Amongst all this elegance the home still manages to retain its natural feel.
