The Globetrotter Collection
Designed by Marcel Wanders for Roche Bobois, this epic collection was inspired by the 18th century Montgolfier brothers, Joseph Michel and Jacques Étienne, who were the inventors of the first practical hot air balloon.
With more than 20 pieces based on various inventions by the brothers, this whimsical collection takes us on an adventurous and awe-inspiring design journey. The design powerhouses have managed to combine history with an adventure fable, creating a playful collection of furniture, accessories and lighting designs.
Marcel Wanders said of the creations: “This collection is a tribute to the adventurer we all dreamt of being. A journey is a transformational experience and we wanted each piece to capture the experience of bringing home worldly treasures from faraway places.”
